We Need Your Help!
Asking for help in vulnerable times is one of the hardest things to do. We know you know this because every day we hear your stories of the challenges you face from newborn days & beyond as we raise these beautiful little humans that enter our lives. We relate because, between the 5 of us parents who operate this little shop, we’ve been there many times over.
We're passionate about supporting every new mother, parent, baby, and grandparent that walks through our doors. Not just by supplying you with both sustainable necessities & gifts locally. Every day we get to share in the joy & pains you experience transitioning into & through parenthood. We get to help you figure out where to buy things that we don’t sell, but you really need. And it’s a true honour every time we hear that you’re sharing the news of your pregnancy with one of us for the first time. We’re humbled by your trust in us.
It's because of this raw passion for the well-being of the life-givers of our community, that we’ve been struggling. The recession has now coupled with COVID small business loans, CEBA, coming due much sooner than we and more than two-thirds of the businesses who required them to survive can afford to pay back. (More on that soon!)
It’s no secret to any new parent that patriarchal values that underpin decisions made in our society do not include valuing the time, effort, & unconditional giving nature of mothering the next generation. Our small social enterprise is run by parents for parents, selling products and services primarily & proudly made by passionate mothers. We do this all from our hearts & souls for our collective mother, Mother Earth.
With personal physical and mental health struggles, a frustrating physical accessibility issue at the shop, & financial burdens brought on by the pandemic, we're truthfully not doing as well as we could be hoping for. We survived the pandemic, please help to keep us going!
