Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, The Hive will remain closed until it is determined it is safe to reopen.
At The Hive, we love seeing people come together to make new connections, build friendships, and strengthen relationships that have existed for years.
We are building a collection of interest groups with various focuses to share and strengthen our collective knowledge and support. Please check out our event calendar to see active and future times and dates. Below are group descriptions and where to look on the event calendar for the next meeting.
These gatherings are all one-hour and have a sliding scale rate of $2-5 per participant. You let us know how much you can fit in your budget each week (no questions asked!) and this funding helps us to keep our community groups project going.
Cloth Diaper Chat - Looking for the chance to geek out about cloth diapers? First in your friend circle to have a baby, and/or don't have any friends who cloth diaper? Join us! Newbies, seasoned-pro's and diaper-wearing babes/toddlers welcome! Let's trouble shoot wash routines, discuss fit and style, and ogle all the cute prints! Monthly meetings Tuesday mornings, beginning April 2020.
In Stitches - Calling all crafters and makers! Bring your current projects, have a cup of tea and stay for the conversation & fibre art love. Babes in arms welcome. Biweekly meetings on Thursday evenings, beginning mid-March.
When Your Baby Has A Baby (Grandparents' Circle) - Some Grandparents are welcome to share the pregnancy, even the birth, and the early postpartum days with their child and others are not, or perhaps in a limited way for various reasons. Hosted by Laura Gillian, grandmother to 10 littles, this group will meet to discuss the ups and downs of being and becoming a grandparent. Weekly meetings Friday mornings March 2020, then once a month beginning in April.
Babywearing Meet-Up - Ring slings, wraps, and Meh Dai's...oh my! Try on different carriers, learn some new tips and tricks and share some of your baby wearing wins. Monthly meetings on Tuesday mornings, beginning April 2020.
