Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Opening/closing of store as applicable during shift
  • Engaging customers in a courteous, helpful and respectful manner, promptly and politely responding to customer inquiries and customer requests for support
  • Serving customers by helping them select the best products for them and offering education on how to use them
  • Providing a relaxing, safe, and nonjudgmental environment for customers and our team
  • Processing customer transactions accurately and efficiently
  • Preparing customer purchases for pick up, delivery, and shipping
  • Checking in merchandise according to guidelines
  • Entering stock into the inventory system, completing regular inventory checks
  • Pricing and displaying merchandise, restocking as required
  • Maintaining clean shopping environment
    • Sweeping/mopping floors as needed
    • Dusting/tidying merchandise and counter/shelves as needed
    • Cleaning bathroom
    • Tidying store front
  • Keeping informed of new products and their features and benefits
  • Attending training/staff meetings as scheduled
  • Checking customer email
  • Other duties as required

Hours and Benefits Your working hours will be approximately 12-18 hours/week, starting wage will be $16/hour. This position is a part time, permanent position. Day and times to be confirmed and agreed upon in advance, current schedule needs would include availability at least one weekday and Saturdays. Please note these hours are approximate and may change according to the needs of the business, particularly over the summer and winter holiday season.  We offer paid breaks and a generous staff discount.

Sales Associate Skills and Qualifications:

  • Active listening, with engaging communication
  • Excellent customer service
  • Guiding customers towards products that suit their lifestyle and needs
  • Extensive knowledge of baby carriers, cloth diapers, and sustainable products
  • Dependability
  • Knowledge of point of sales systems and basic math skills

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk short distances for up to 6 hours a day.
  • Ability to correctly lift and carry 40 pound storage bins 
  • Bending, rotating, and reaching customary to a retail environment; including receiving, pricing, and stocking/back stocking merchandise

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Retail experience preferred
  • Experience with cloth diapers, baby carriers, car seats, and/or sustainable retail are an asset
